Attorney Profile
Daniel W Johnson
Dan's forte is large, complex, wrongful death and serious personal injury cases caused by the fault of others. Such cases often involve automobile or truck accidents, defective products, construction site accidents, train accidents, airplane crashes or other failures. Dan has been representing victims that have suffered serious personal injury, burns, spinal injuries resulting in paralysis, brain injuries, loss of limbs and wrongful death for over 30 years. Dan has been recognized by his peers as a "SuperLawyer" in Los Angeles.
In 1982, Dan joined David Berglund in his law firm. He had been introduced to Dave by their pastor at the church they attended. Dan saw that Dave combined the practice of law with his Judeo Christian principles in a way that was not evident in most businesses. With matched values, the team of Berglund & Johnson was born.
Dan is admitted to the United States Federal District Court and is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, State Bar of California and the Christian Legal Society.
Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, Dan and his parents, Orville and Ruth Johnson, were an integral part of Van Nuys First Baptist Church for over twenty years, where they served in the music ministry. He played saxophone in the renowned Christian Rock Band "The Certain Sounds" that toured in the Los Angeles area and around the world. Dan, also, served on the Board of Deacons.
Dan is an avid sportsman who enjoys skiing, SCUBA diving, wind surfing, tennis, golf and fishing. He is a big Dodger and Lakers fan. Dan and Beth have three sons—one graduated from USC Marshall School of Business, one graduated from UC Berkeley and the third is attending Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Dan received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Northridge. Thereafter, Dan attended the University of LaVerne Law School (previously USFV) where he was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, law school's highest honor, representing outstanding scholastic achievement. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1976 and began the practice of law that year. Dan continued his education by attending many post law school courses including a number of classes at USC Medical School to further his expertise in medical related issues.
Dan has served on the Boards of Van Nuys First Baptist Church, World Impact, The Oaks, West Valley Christian Academy, Campus After Dark, Western Center for Law & Religious Freedom, Fellowship Of Christian Athletes, Center for Conflict Resolution, Steve Amerson Music Ministries, Salvation Army, TLC Ministry and West Hills Baseball. He has also served as President of the Los Angeles Christian Legal Society for two terms. After moving to Woodland Hills in 1986, he and his family joined the Church at Rocky Peak where Dan served on the Board of Deacons. At present, Dan and his family attend Calvary Community Church in Westlake, CA.
